KU Paleontological Institute

We work with the global paleontological community to create, collect, publish and disseminate expert, vetted knowledge and data on invertebrate paleontology.

The KU Paleontological Institute publishes the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology and related publications, to share morphological, taxonomic, systematic, stratigraphic and biogeographic data on organisms comprising all the “invertebrate” phyla with a significant fossil record, as well as certain unicellular organisms, e.g., “Protoctista”, “Protista”, and Eubacteria/Archaea.

In addition to the Treatise, the Paleontological Institute also publishes the KU Paleontological Contributions. Information on all publications is in three categories:

  • Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology – Published Volumes
  • Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology – Previously Published Online Volumes
  • Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology – In Progress Volumes
  • University of Kansas Paleontological Contributions & Other Publications

You can search all online publications via keyword, author or title, or purchase print volumes from our web store. Questions? Contact us at paleo@ku.edu.
